How to get to Bungalows Los Guanches, La Palma,Canary Islands,Although El Paso is the third biggest town on the island it doesn’t feature on many of the road signs near Santa Cruz and the airport. To get there follow the signs initially for Los Llanos. It is just over ½ hour’s driving in total. From the Airport On exit from the airport, travel towards Santa Cruz in a northerly direction along the coast, which will be on your right hand side. After going about 2.5kms from the exit of the tunnel that goes under the runway you will see a sign for Los Llanos indicating a right turn. Take the turn. Now follow the instructions for the rest of the journey. From the Ferry Terminal at Santa Cruz At the exit from the port there is a large roubdabout. Take the Southern exit to drive along side the port, which will be on on your left hand side, and you will soon enter l tunnel. After about 1.6km from the tunnel exit you will see the signs for Los Llanos indicating a right turn at junction 1. Be careful. There are 2 exits at juntion 1 that are about 50 meters apart! You want the second one, junction 1B The rest to the journey From there it’s straightforward. Just keep following the Los Llanos signs. You go up the mountain, though the tunnel near the top and down the other side. Note that about 3.5km after you come out of the tunnel and get to where the land flattens out a bit there is a 50 kph speed limit with the only radar speed camera on the island (I think). It's not like any camera I've ever seen, a low white box on the right hand side of the road as you get to the Visitors' Centre. Continue on for another 1.3km from the Visitors' Centre until you get to the roundabout on the map below.
